Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Site Supervisor – Instrumentation to manage and supervise day-to-day instrumentation installation, testing, commissioning, and site execution activities at the Apollo Tyres project at Sri City, Hyderabad.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating site technicians, electricians, contractors, and subcontractors while ensuring that all instrumentation works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily instrumentation installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities at the project site.
- Ensure all instrumentation work is carried out as per approved P&IDs, instrument index, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, loop drawings, layouts, and project specifications.
- Supervise installation of field instruments such as transmitters, control valves, switches, gauges, sensors, analyzers, and other instrumentation equipment.
- Coordinate instrument mounting, tubing, impulse lines, pneumatic connections, junction boxes, cable laying, cable glanding, termination, and field wiring activities.
- Monitor and coordinate calibration, continuity checks, megger testing, loop checking, functional testing, and instrument commissioning.
- Supervise and allocate work to technicians, electricians, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Monitor manpower productivity and ensure work is completed according to the project schedule.
- Check availability and proper utilization of instruments, cables, glands, fittings, tubing, supports, junction boxes, and other project materials.
- Coordinate with the engineering, electrical, commissioning, QA/QC, safety, and project teams for smooth execution.
- Coordinate with Apollo Tyres/customer representatives and resolve site-related technical and execution issues.
- Identify installation issues, drawing discrepancies, material shortages, and other site constraints and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure instrumentation installation meets required quality, safety, inspection, and project standards.
- Support PLC, SCADA, DCS, control panel, and automation system commissioning activities wherever required.
- Prepare and maintain daily site progress reports, manpower reports, material requirements, and work status updates.
- Assist in preparation and closure of punch points, snag lists, inspection reports, and commissioning documentation.
- Maintain proper records of calibration certificates, inspection reports, test reports, loop-checking records, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate inspection activities with QA/QC and customer representatives.
- Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, SAT, trial runs, and final project handover activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping at the work area and maintain a safe and organized site environment.
- Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, and company/customer HSE requirements.
- Take responsibility for achieving assigned daily and weekly site execution targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in industrial instrumentation installation and commissioning.
- Good knowledge of field instrumentation, cable termination, tubing, impulse lines, junction boxes, and control systems.
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, loop drawings, and instrument layouts.
- Experience in calibration, loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning will be preferred.
- Experience in industrial projects, manufacturing plants, process industries, automation projects, or tyre/automotive plants will be an advantage.
- Good manpower coordination and site supervision skills.
- Ability to identify site problems and coordinate solutions independently.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Basic knowledge of PLC, SCADA, DCS, and industrial automation systems is preferred.
Candidate Requirements
- Immediate joiners are strongly preferred.
- Candidates must be willing to relocate to Hyderabad / Sri City.
- Candidates should be comfortable working at an industrial project site.
- Willingness to work according to project requirements and site schedules.
- Candidates with strong site supervision and instrumentation experience will be given preference.

Shift & Travel
Shift: Day Shift preferred; candidate should be flexible according to project requirements.
Travel: Local/project-related travel may be required as per site requirements.
