About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Manual QA Tester with 1.5+ years of experience to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that software applications meet quality standards through rigorous testing and collaboration with developers and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze system specifications, requirements, and technical documents.
- Create, maintain, and execute manual test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Perform different types of testing — functional, regression, integration, UAT, and smoke testing.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla, or Trello).
- Collaborate with developers and business teams to ensure defects are properly understood and resolved.
- Participate in test planning, test execution, and release validation.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure overall product quality before release.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in testing processes and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Manual QA Tester.
- Solid understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) and defect life cycle.
- Experience in test case creation, execution, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Knowledge of API testing (Postman or similar) is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing web-based and mobile applications.
- Basic understanding of SQL for data validation.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Selenium) is a plus but not required.
- ISTQB or similar certification preferred.
