- CNC Programming: Develop, write, and verify CNC programs using advanced CAD/CAM software for 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis vertical machining centers.
- CAD/CAM Modeling: Review engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models to extract dimensional data and design required work-holding fixtures or manufacturing jigs.
- Process Planning: Determine the sequence of machining operations, select appropriate cutting tools, and establish optimal spindle speeds, feed rates, and depth of cuts.
- Simulation & Verification: Run virtual machining simulations to detect potential tool collisions, verify material removal rates, and troubleshoot code before deployment.
- Code Modification: Manually write and edit G-code and M-code directly at the machine controller when necessary to optimize tool paths and resolve real-time errors.
- First-Article Inspection: Collaborate closely with VMC Operators to execute "dry runs" and inspect the first produced part using precision tools to guarantee program accuracy.
- Cycle Time Optimization: Analyze existing programs to reduce machining cycle times, minimize tool wear, and improve overall factory throughput.
- Process Documentation: Maintain an organized library of CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling lists, and revision history logs for future production runs.
