JOB TITLE: Purchase Executive (Project Procurement)

Dedicated project procurement role for the RSIPL Brownfield
Expansion Project — DRI, CPP, SMS, Rolling Mill components,
structural steel, refractories and allied equipment. This is
a project-focused role, distinct from routine plant purchase,
requiring active vendor development, negotiation and
structured reporting to support project timelines and cost
control.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline; preference for
Engineering, Supply Chain or Materials Management
- 3-7 years in industrial / capital procurement, preferably
in steel, power or heavy manufacturing
- Prior project procurement experience (not just routine
purchase) strongly preferred
- Strong vendor network or the ability to build one
- Proficiency in Excel; ERP familiarity a plus
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen
- Willingness to travel to plant site (Ramgarh) as required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- End-to-end procurement for the expansion project — from
requirement identification to PO closure — for project
equipment, materials and services
- Identify, evaluate and onboard alternate vendors to widen
the supplier base
- Obtain and compare quotations; prepare technical and
commercial comparative statements
- Negotiate commercial terms, delivery and payment terms
with vendors and OEMs
- Coordinate with technical/consulting teams to finalise
purchase specifications
- Track PO status and delivery timelines; follow up to avoid
project delays
- Maintain a categorised vendor database (DRI, CPP, SMS,
Rolling Mill, structural, refractory)
- Prepare procurement reports for CMD and stakeholders,
including cost tracking against capital budgets
- Support project finance/bank documentation
- Flag cost overruns, vendor issues or supply risks
- Coordinate with site teams for delivery and material
receipt reconciliation
