Job Title: HR Head – Retail Industry
Job Summary: The HR Head is responsible for leading the Human Resources function across all retail stores and corporate offices. The role focuses on talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, statutory compliance, payroll oversight, training, and developing HR strategies that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll & Statutory Compliance
o Supervise payroll processing and attendance management.
o Ensure compliance with labour laws, PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, and other statutory regulations.
o Coordinate audits and maintain HR documentation.
2. HR Strategy & Leadership
o Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
o Lead and manage the HR team across stores and head office.
o Establish and improve HR policies, SOPs, and best practices.
3. Talent Acquisition
o Oversee recruitment for retail stores, warehouse, and corporate functions.
o Ensure timely hiring to meet manpower requirements.
o Build strong recruitment channels and employer branding initiatives.
4. Performance Management
o Design and implement performance appraisal systems.
o Monitor employee productivity and support career development.
o Work with department heads on succession planning and talent retention.
5. Employee Relations & Engagement
o Resolve employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
o Drive employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and retention initiatives.
o Promote a positive workplace culture.
6. Training & Development
o Identify training needs across stores and departments.
o Conduct leadership, customer service, and compliance training programs.
o Evaluate training effectiveness and support employee growth.
7. HR Operations
o Oversee onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit formalities.
o Maintain employee records and HRIS.
o Prepare HR reports, MIS, manpower budgets, and workforce analytics.
Required Qualifications
MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
8–15 years of HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role in the retail industry.
Strong knowledge of labour laws, payroll, compliance, and HR operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of HRMS Software.
