Role Overview
The Vendor Relations & Marketplace Operations Specialist plays a critical role in sourcing new vendors, onboarding them efficiently, managing ongoing vendor relationships, and ensuring smooth catalog deployment across global marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, etc.). This role bridges communication between vendors and internal teams, drives process excellence, and contributes directly to revenue growth.
The Specialist is responsible for pre-onboarding research, campaign execution, vendor communication, catalog listing accuracy, buybox performance, and ongoing vendor query management. The role also includes SOP creation, process improvement, and handling leadership-priority tasks requiring deep analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and outreach to new brands/distributors using http://apollo.io/, SmartScout, Google, LinkedIn, AI tools, etc.- Manage vendor communication, explain dropshipping workflow, and complete full onboarding.
- Fill vendor onboarding forms, collect catalog files, pricing, shipping info, and compliance documents (LOA, agreements).
- Coordinate with internal teams for catalog listing, SKU activation, pricing updates, and marketplace support.
- Monitor listings, buybox performance, and resolve vendor issues within defined SLAs.
- Maintain vendor mailboxes, invoices, order queries, and documentation.
- Support leadership with research, analytics, and ad-hoc priority tasks.
- Create SOPs, identify process gaps, and help drive automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- 2–4 years of experience in e-commerce operations, vendor relations, or marketplace management
- Strong knowledge of Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and other marketplace ecosystems
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using outreach platforms (http://apollo.io/, Lemlist, SmartLead)
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple vendors simultaneously
- MBA in Marketing or equivalent qualification (preferred).
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel/Google Sheets mandatory; BI tools preferred).
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience in dropshipping or wholesale vendor management
- Familiarity with FTP/API-based automation
- Exposure to AI tools for research
- Ability to draft SOPs and process documents
- Prior experience with catalog listing or marketplace compliance
