Job Summary
Cognowiz is hiring a highly experienced Senior Power BI Developer with 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, dashboard development, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, data modeling, and Power BI Service, along with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable BI and reporting solutions.
- Develop advanced data models using star schema, dimensional modeling, and best practices.
- Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and time-intelligence calculations.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading using Power Query and related tools.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Connect Power BI to SQL Server, Azure, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Manage report publishing, workspaces, scheduled refreshes, gateways, and dataset administration.
- Implement row-level security, role-based access, and data governance standards.
- Monitor report performance and optimize dashboards, data models, and queries.
- Work with business users to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
- Review technical designs and mentor junior Power BI developers and analysts.
- Troubleshoot data refresh, report performance, access, and production-related issues.
- Prepare technical documentation, data dictionaries, report specifications, and support procedures.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, project managers, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or a related technology role.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query/M, data modeling, and dashboard design.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, views, and stored procedures.
- Experience designing scalable and optimized BI solutions for enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, fact tables, dimension tables, and star schemas.
- Experience with Power BI workspaces, gateways, data refreshes, deployment pipelines, and security.
- Ability to independently manage projects from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
- Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and enterprise data warehouse architecture.
- Experience integrating Power BI with SAP, Salesforce, SharePoint, Snowflake, or other business applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, source control, DevOps, and automated deployment practices.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Prior experience leading BI development teams or mentoring technical professionals.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
