ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Responsible and accountable or the safe custody of all materials and scrap.
● Ensuring material availability against the monthly production schedule and follow up with the Purchase department to ensure timely material arrival.
● Ensuring cleanliness in material storage areas and stacking in an orderly fashion for ease of material retrieval and stock-taking.
● Ensuring Traceability of all materials by ensuring all shelves and materials are labelled ● Ensuring documentation updation in ERP, Excel/manual records and registers maintained in stores. ● Ensure material issuance against properly authorised documents.
● Performing physical verification of stocks at least twice a year.
● Alerting the Plant Head and CFO of any missing materials or portable machines/tools. ● Providing an accurate monthly stock statement to management and accounts by the 5th of the following month.
● Provide bi-weekly update on key materials to Purchase to prevent purchase of excess stock. ● Ensuring adequate stock of regular raw materials and consumables to prevent production disruption by developing minimum re-Order quantity level.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
● Any diploma or degree in mechanical field preferably DME, B.E or M.E.
REQUIRED SKILLS (explicitly call out must-have and nice-to-have skills expectations) Must-Have Skills:
● Prior experience in managing Stores function for a minimum 7 years in a fabrication industry dealing extensively with Stainless steel, High Nickey alloy and carbon steel plates, coils of various grades, and components like Flanges, brackets, tie rods etc.
● Should have managed Stores Dept handling raw materials, consumables, bought out components with minimum of 500 plus types of items.
● Should be able to calculate material weight based on dimensions and grade of product ● Good computer knowledge, with strong exposure to Excel, Word and ERP.
● Independently represent the Stores Dept with certification agencies viz. ISO and ASME Nice-to-Have Skills:
● Knowledge and experience in Bar coding of materials
● Exposure to coursework related to Inventory, Accounting, and Planning is advantageous. ● Supply Chain or logistics certification is welcome.
● Knowledge of Bellows/Pressure vessel fabrication is a bonus.
