Job Summary
Team Leader – Sales & Operations is responsible for managing freight forwarding sales activities while overseeing daily operational functions to ensure smooth shipment handling, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. The role involves leading a team, developing client relationships, coordinating with carriers and agents, and ensuring efficient execution of logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Generate new business opportunities in air freight, sea freight, and logistics services.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate rates, and close business deals.
- Proper follow-ups and interaction with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with overseas agents and shipping partners for business development.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
- Supervise day-to-day freight forwarding operations for shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs brokers, and warehouses.
- Ensure timely booking, documentation, shipment tracking, and delivery.
- Monitor operational KPIs and maintain service quality standards.
- Handle customer escalations and provide effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
- Optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure proper coordination between departments.
- Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, airlines to obtain competitive freight rates and pricing solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pricing/freight forwarding/logistics/operations (Import).
- Proven experience in both sales and operations management.
- Strong knowledge of air freight, sea freight, customs clearance, and shipping documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and preparing sales reports.
