The Opportunity
We are looking for a resourceful Mobile App Developer to bring our fully functional, responsive web platform to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Instead of rebuilding our platform from scratch, your primary objective is to build a high-performance native wrapper app (Web View container) around our existing web infrastructure. You will design a secure mobile shell, integrate native device features, and own the end-to-end deployment pipeline.
What We Are Building
- A cross-platform mobile application (iOS and Android) that securely hosts and displays our responsive web platform using a full-screen, native web-view container.
- A hybrid experience that blends our web-based features with essential native mobile utilities.
- We want to explore the best architectural path for this wrapper—whether that means leveraging a unified framework like CapacitorJS or React Native, or utilizing an optimized PWA + TWA (Trusted Web Activity) approach where supported.
Key Responsibilities
- App Containerization: Build and maintain the mobile application shell targeting both iOS and Android platforms.
- Native Feature Integration: Implement device-level features over the web interface, such as native push notifications, secure local biometrics (FaceID/TouchID), smooth splash screens, and hardware back-button handling.
- UI/UX Polishing: Optimize the web-to-mobile user flow, addressing safe-area layouts (camera notches, bottom gesture bars) and ensuring seamless session and checkout management.
- App Store Publishing: Own the end-to-end deployment lifecycle on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store—handling provisioning profiles, signing certificates, build submissions, and navigating the app review process to ensure store compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Mobile Development Experience: Proven track record of packaging and deploying mobile applications using hybrid or cross-platform web-wrapper approaches (such as CapacitorJS, React Native, or automated PWA to TWA container pipelines).
- Web Foundations: Strong proficiency in core web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3) and mobile-first frontend responsiveness.
- Platform SDK Tools: Hands-on experience building, debugging, and archiving binaries inside Xcode and Android Studio.
- Store Publishing Success: Direct experience navigating the Google Play Console and Apple Developer portal, including managing TestFlight beta tracks and resolving store review feedback.
Preferred/Nice-to-Have
- Experience adapting embedded browser engines to handle external checkouts and third-party social authentication (OAuth) constraints.
- Familiarity with writing lightweight native code (Swift, Kotlin, or Java) if a custom bridge plugin is required.
