Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor (Civil) with 3–7 years of experience in building and commercial construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for quantity estimation, measurement, billing, cost monitoring, BOQ preparation, and coordination with site and project teams.
The role requires regular local travel to project sites for measurements, verification, billing, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
- Conduct site measurements and verify quantities executed at site.
- Prepare and check RA bills, subcontractor bills, and client bills.
- Monitor project quantities, material consumption, and cost variations.
- Identify and evaluate variation orders and additional works.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and consultants.
- Review drawings, specifications, and BOQs to identify discrepancies and scope changes.
- Maintain measurement sheets, quantity records, and cost-related documentation.
- Assist in preparing rate analysis and material/labour cost estimates.
- Support tendering, quotation evaluation, and subcontractor comparison.
- Track project costs against budgets and report significant variations.
- Visit project sites regularly for measurements, inspections, and quantity verification.
- Prepare periodic quantity and cost reports for management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in civil construction, preferably commercial/building projects.
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-off, BOQ, estimation, measurement, and billing.
- Good understanding of civil construction materials and methods.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of rate analysis and construction costing.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret civil/architectural drawings.
- Willingness to travel locally to project sites as required.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with commercial buildings, residential buildings, office projects, or other building construction.
- Experience handling subcontractor measurements and billing.
- Knowledge of relevant Indian construction standards and practices.
- Familiarity with ERP/QS or construction management software will be an advantage.
