Summary:
As a Technology Support Engineer, your typical day involves resolving incidents and problems that span multiple business system components, ensuring operational stability across the organization. You will create and implement Requests for Change, updating knowledge base articles to facilitate effective troubleshooting. Collaboration with vendors and service management teams is essential as you assist in issue analysis and resolution, contributing to a seamless operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Support: Overseeing daily operations, troubleshooting complex issues (Tier 4 support), and ensuring high availability.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Managing and guiding junior engineers, setting standards, defining policies, and providing technical direction.
- Performance & Optimization: Monitoring network performance, capacity planning, and implementing improvements for efficiency.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive network documentation and procedures.
- Strategy: Researching new technologies and contributing to long-term network strategy and growth.
Good to Have:
- Design & Implementation: Architecting and deploying new network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and cloud connectivity (AWS/GCP).
- Security: Designing and implementing network security measures, firewalls, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.
Core Skills & Knowledge:
- Hardware: Deep knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, access points.
- Protocols: Strong grasp of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, HTTP, and routing/switching fundamentals.
- Security: Firewall management, VPNs, network access control, vulnerability remediation.
- Cloud: Experience with network optimization for public cloud providers.
- Troubleshooting: Advanced problem-solving, packet analysis, and use of monitoring tools.
- Automation : Proven results in identification, build and execution of automation activities
- Soft Skills: Leadership, mentoring, strategic thinking, communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 20+ years of experience in Network Infrastructures.
- Certification : CCNA, CCNP (Good to have)
Extensive experience in implementation and maintaining complex LAN/WAN/Wireless infrastructure, acting as a senior technical expert, escalating complex issues, mentoring junior staff, and setting best practices for network performance, reliability, and strategic growth, covering everything from hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) to software, Manage client escalation and make sure SLA s are met.
