Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled SolidCAM Engineer with 3–6 years of hands-on experience in CNC programming, CAM programming, and manufacturing processes. The candidate should have strong expertise in SolidCAM, CNC machining, toolpath generation, and machining strategy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC machining programs using SolidCAM.
- Create 2D/3D toolpaths for milling and machining operations.
- Work on 3-axis / 4-axis / 5-axis machining based on project requirements.
- Generate and validate toolpaths for complex components.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, machining parameters, feeds, and speeds.
- Perform toolpath simulation and collision/gouge checking.
- Generate and modify G-code / NC programs for CNC machines.
- Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, GD&T, and machining specifications.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Production, and Quality teams.
- Optimize machining cycles to improve productivity, tool life, and machining quality.
- Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining-related issues.
- Support prototype, development, and production machining activities.
- Maintain CAM programs, machining documentation, and process sheets.
Mandatory Skillsets
- SolidCAM – Mandatory
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in CAM programming
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes
- Good understanding of 2D/3D milling
- Experience in toolpath creation and optimization
- Knowledge of 3-axis / 4-axis / 5-axis machining
- CNC tool selection and machining parameter optimization
- Knowledge of G-code / NC programming
- Toolpath simulation and collision detection
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Good understanding of manufacturing and machining processes
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SolidWorks + SolidCAM
- Experience in machining of automotive / precision engineering components
- Knowledge of CNC machine setup and shop-floor processes
- Experience with complex components and tight tolerances
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining strategies
- Exposure to CNC milling / VMC / HMC environments
Education
BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
