Head of the Department (HOD), Chemistry
Qualification
- M.Sc. Chemistry with minimum 55% marks.
- NET/SET qualification preferred.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry is desirable.
- As per UGC/Bharathidasan University/Government of Tamil Nadu norms.
Experience
- Freshers with excellent academic records may apply.
- Teaching experience in Arts & Science Colleges is preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate Chemistry courses effectively.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, and laboratory manuals.
- Conduct theory and practical classes.
- Maintain attendance and internal assessment records.
- Prepare question papers and evaluate answer scripts.
- Guide students in seminars, assignments, and projects.
- Mentor slow learners and advanced learners.
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Conduct practical sessions safely.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Ensure laboratory safety protocols.
- Maintain stock registers and laboratory records.
- Coordinate purchase of laboratory consumables.
Research Responsibilities
- Publish research papers in reputed journals.
- Apply for funded research projects.
- Present papers at seminars and conferences.
- Encourage students to participate in research activities.
Student Development
- Serve as Mentor for assigned students.
- Counsel students regarding academic performance.
- Encourage participation in competitions.
- Guide students for higher education and careers.
Departmental Responsibilities
- Assist in NAAC, NIRF, AISHE, and University documentation.
- Organize seminars, workshops, industrial visits, and guest lectures.
- Coordinate extension and outreach activities.
- Participate in admissions and examination duties.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Attend departmental and college meetings.
- Maintain departmental records.
- Support IQAC activities.
- Perform duties assigned by the Principal.
