We are looking for an experienced and responsible Store Manager to oversee the complete day-to-day operations of the store. The Store Manager will be responsible for purchase and vendor coordination, inventory management, staff supervision, sales, customer service, cash control, hygiene, and overall store performance.
The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, good knowledge of retail/food & beverage operations, and the ability to manage people, stock, and store activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchase & Vendor Management
- Manage regular purchase of sweets, food items, raw materials, packaging materials, and other store requirements.
- Coordinate with approved vendors and suppliers.
- Check purchase rates, quality, quantity, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure purchases are made as per approved requirements and budgets.
- Maintain proper purchase records, invoices, and vendor details.
- Coordinate with management for new vendors and rate negotiations.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Monitor daily inward and outward stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Identify shortages, wastage, damages, expiry, and pilferage.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food products and packaging materials.
3. Staff Management
- Supervise all store staff, including sales, counter, kitchen/support, housekeeping, and delivery personnel as applicable.
- Allocate duties and prepare staff schedules/shifts.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming, discipline, and performance.
- Train staff on customer service, product knowledge, hygiene, and store procedures.
- Handle staff issues and maintain a positive working environment.
- Ensure adequate staffing during peak hours, weekends, and festivals.
4. Overall Store Operations
- Take complete responsibility for smooth day-to-day functioning of the store.
- Ensure the store opens and closes on time.
- Monitor daily sales and achieve assigned sales targets.
- Ensure proper display, presentation, freshness, and availability of products.
- Monitor cash counter operations and daily cash reconciliation.
- Ensure proper billing and POS operations.
- Coordinate with accounts/management regarding sales, cash, expenses, and reports.
- Minimize operational losses, wastage, and stock discrepancies.
5. Customer Service
- Ensure excellent customer service and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure staff maintain proper communication and behavior with customers.
- Monitor customer feedback and take corrective action where required.
6. Hygiene, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the store.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and display practices.
- Monitor product quality and freshness.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and applicable food safety requirements.
- Conduct regular checks of equipment, refrigeration, storage areas, counters, and premises.
7. Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily sales and operational reports.
- Maintain purchase, inventory, wastage, staff attendance, and expense records.
- Monitor daily expenses and ensure proper authorization.
- Report operational issues, stock shortages, damages, and maintenance requirements to management.
- Maintain all store documents and records properly.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in store management, retail, restaurant, bakery, sweets, food & beverage, or similar operations.
- Previous experience handling purchase and inventory will be preferred.
- Strong staff-handling and leadership skills.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Basic knowledge of billing/POS systems and MS Excel.
- Good numerical and stock-management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage peak-season operations.
- Should be responsible, disciplined, honest, and proactive.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and festivals as required.
