We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our construction company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, monitoring project costs, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor project budgets, job costing, and construction expenses.
- Process vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and client billing.
- Reconcile bank accounts and company financial transactions.
- Assist with payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Prepare GST/VAT, TDS, tax filings, and other regulatory reports as applicable.
- Track project profitability and provide cost analysis to management.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
- Understanding of job costing, project accounting, and construction contracts.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CA Inter, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting certification.
- Experience handling construction project accounts and contractor billing.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cash flow management, and cost control.
