Molex is seeking a Team Lead, Mechanical Engineering to join our Industrial Solutions Engineering team. In this role, you will lead a team of mechanical product engineers responsible for developing and sustaining connector and cable assembly solutions that enable industrial communication and automation applications. You will collaborate with global engineering teams, drive technical excellence, support product innovation, and help develop engineering talent while delivering high-quality solutions that create value for customers.
Our Team
You will be part of Molex's Industrial Solutions Engineering Team , supporting the development of advanced connector and cable assembly products for industrial automation and communication applications. The team works closely with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, product management, and program management partners to bring innovative products to market and support existing product portfolios.
What You Will Do

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and accountability.
- Drive the design, development, and sustaining engineering of connector and cable assembly products for industrial and automotive applications.
- Partner with global engineering teams to deliver innovative products, design improvements, and cost-optimization initiatives.
- Guide engineering teams in applying best practices for CAD modeling, drawing creation, GD&T, and product documentation.
- Support successful product launches by collaborating with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and product management teams.
- Provide technical leadership in solving complex design, manufacturing, and product performance challenges.
- Engage with customers and suppliers to address technical requirements and support business objectives.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, reliability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead engineering investigations, validation activities, and data-driven decision-making to resolve product issues.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering practices to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Promote a culture of ownership, knowledge sharing, and customer-focused problem solving within the engineering organization.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in product design and development within Industrial Communication, Industrial Automation, or Automotive industries.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising engineering teams.
- Experience in connector and cable assembly design and development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design software, preferably Siemens NX.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stack-up analysis.
- Experience with product development and engineering change management processes.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA and DFM/DFA methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional and global teams.
- Strong communication, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.
What Will Put You Ahead

Experience developing high-speed connector and cable assembly solutions.
- Experience designing plastic, sheet metal, cast, and plated components.
- Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM and Polarion tools.
- Experience supporting global manufacturing environments and product launches.
- Advanced expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers on technical projects.
- Proven success leading engineering teams through complex product development initiatives.
