Job Purpose
The Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) will be responsible for supporting production and quality operations on the shop floor. This role involves achieving operational targets, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, documentation, and assisting in testing and inspection activities.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals. This position allows candidates to learn, adapt, and grow in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Production & Quality Targets
- Ensure achievement of production targets shift wise with controlling of scrap generation & hold up. Maintain quality standards as per defined standards.
- Support production activities, conduct basic testing, and maintain product quality.
- Assist in inspections, documentation, and root cause analysis for defects.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow and enforce 5S practices, safety protocols, and shop floor discipline.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation for operations and quality compliance.
- Update attendance, DPR, OEE reports, and prepare customer-specific documents.
- Prepare documents related to cable standards for Quality, HSE & Energy
- Ensure product meets quality standards and customer requirements.
- Perform routine testing, assist in customer inspections, and maintain testing equipment.
- Testing For New Product Development
- Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
- Suggest and implement Kaizens, participate in downtime analysis, and support new product development.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Ensure smooth collaboration with other departments to meet operational goals.
- Communicate and coordinate with production, quality, and other teams for daily targets.
- Interact with operators & helpers for creating awareness of daily work on housekeeping, safety activities, etc.
