Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Show Producer cum Anchor with a minimum of 5 years of experience in television or digital news. The ideal candidate should be capable of producing engaging news programs, anchoring live and recorded shows, coordinating with editorial teams, and delivering accurate, unbiased, and compelling news content.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and anchor daily news programs, special shows, and live broadcasts.
- Plan show rundowns and coordinate with reporters, editors, graphics, and PCR/MCR teams.
- Research, verify, and develop news stories before broadcast.
- Write and edit anchor scripts, headlines, and interview questions.
- Conduct live and recorded interviews with experts, officials, and guests.
- Ensure factual accuracy and maintain editorial standards.
- Coordinate with field reporters for breaking news coverage.
- Work closely with the Digital, Social Media, and Editorial teams to maximize content reach.
- Monitor current affairs, political developments, business, entertainment, sports, and trending news.
- Handle live breaking news situations with confidence and professionalism.
- Suggest innovative show concepts and audience engagement strategies.
- Ensure timely delivery of all production requirements.
Required Skills
- Excellent news presentation and anchoring skills.
- Strong command of Tamil (spoken and written); English proficiency is preferred.
- Excellent script writing and editing skills.
- Strong knowledge of current affairs and news judgment.
- Experience in live news production and newsroom operations.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Confidence in handling live debates, interviews, and breaking news.
- Familiarity with newsroom software, teleprompter, and digital publishing platforms.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Visual Communication, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in TV News or Digital News Channels.
- Strong network with reporters, news agencies, and industry contacts.
- Experience in election coverage, special events, and live news programming will be an added advantage.
