Role Overview
The Travel Consultant owns end-to-end itinerary planning and customer coordination, sitting at the intersection of
product, operations, and customer experience. The role demands a sharp eye for detail, a strong sense of
ownership, and the ability to translate customer goals into well-structured, seamless travel plans.
You will work closely with customers, internal operations teams, and vendors to design FIT itineraries, manage
revisions, support pre-travel queries, and ensure a smooth handover for execution — all within defined turnaround
times and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Itinerary planning & customer coordination
o Design customised FIT itineraries tailored to each customer's preferences, budget, duration, and travel goals.
o Build detailed day-wise travel plans covering destinations, sightseeing, transfers, routing, and logical flow.
o Serve as the single point of contact for customers throughout the itinerary planning phase.
o Manage multiple itinerary requests simultaneously, maintaining quality and adherence to turnaround timelines.
o Handle itinerary revisions accurately and efficiently based on customer feedback.
- Operations & Internal Collaboration
o Coordinate closely with internal operations teams to ensure accurate handover and smooth execution of travel plans.
o Ensure all itinerary details are clearly documented and aligned with operational feasibility.
o Address pre-travel queries and provide customers with clear guidance for a hassle-free experience.
o Adhere to defined SOPs, documentation standards, and internal product guidelines at all times.
- Process adherence & continuous improvement
o Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all itinerary outputs.
o Proactively identify gaps or inefficiencies in itinerary flows and customer handling processes.
o Share structured feedback with product and operations teams to improve offerings and workflows.
o Actively contribute to improving turnaround times, quality benchmarks, and overall customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications and Experience required:
o 2–5 years of experience in the tours & travel industry with a strong focus on FIT itinerary planning.
o Proven ability to design customised FIT itineraries across varied customer profiles and budgets.
o Strong destination knowledge across major European countries.
o Prior experience with travel agencies, DMCs, or tour operators.
o Excellent communication, coordination, and customer-handling skills.
o Familiarity with Europe travel logistics, transfers, rail passes, sightseeing arrangements, and local nuances.
o Proficiency in Excel, email tools, internal trackers, and operational platforms.
o Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately handle documentation and data entry.
o A customer-focused mindset with a high degree of empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
o Demonstrated commitment to customer centricity, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and
supportive claims experience for travel agents and their customers.
o Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
o High resilience and comfort with ambiguity in a dynamic start-up ecosystem.
o Ability to engage and transact with senior internal and external stakeholders.
o Ability to manage pressure and handle multiple claims simultaneously.
