Position: Project Engineer
Location: Calicut
Experience: 3 years
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Tendering
Ø Study drawings, specifications, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities)
Ø Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical/civil/mechanical works
Ø Rate analysis for materials, labour, and equipment
Ø Floating enquiries and collecting quotations from vendors/suppliers
Ø Prepare tender documents and participate in bidding process
Ø Value engineering to optimize project cost
2. Quantity Surveying
Ø Take off quantities from drawings (AutoCAD or manual)
Ø Prepare BOQ and verify quantities at site
Ø Track variations and additional works
3. Billing & Measurement
Ø Prepare client RA (Running Account) bills
Ø Verify subcontractor/vendor bills
Ø Measurement of executed work at site
Ø Certification of bills as per work progress
Ø Maintain billing records and documentation
Required Skills
Ø Strong knowledge in estimation and billing procedures
Ø Familiarity with BOQ, rate analysis, and tendering
Ø Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel
Ø Knowledge of contracts and billing terms (RA bills, final bills)
Ø Good analytical and negotiation skills
Ø Site measurement and drawing interpretation ability
Key Deliverables
Ø Accurate project cost estimates
Ø Timely submission of client bills
Ø Proper verification of subcontractor bills
Ø Cost control within approved budget
