About the Role
SNK Surfaces is looking for a curious, detail-oriented B2B SEO Intern to help grow our visibility across both traditional Google Search and emerging AI search experiences (like AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other LLM-powered discovery tools). Our website is built on WordPress, so hands-on WordPress experience is a must. You'll have real ownership over our SEO efforts, with the freedom to bring fresh ideas and see them through. You'll work hands-on with technical SEO, on-page optimization, off-page strategies, blog content writing, and backlink acquisition — gaining real-world experience in a fast-evolving search landscape.
This is a 3-month internship with a clear path to a full-time position at SNK Surfaces for strong performers.
What You'll Do
- Conduct technical SEO audits (site speed, crawlability, indexing, structured data, mobile usability, Core Web Vitals)
- Implement and test schema markup to improve eligibility for rich results and AI-generated answers
- Optimize on-page elements: titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and content structure
- Research and apply best practices for AI search visibility, including content formatting that performs well in AI Overviews and LLM citations
- Write and publish SEO-optimized blog posts that are informative, well-structured, and aligned with our content strategy
- Lead backlink acquisition efforts: identify link opportunities, conduct outreach, and build relationships with relevant websites and publishers
- Support off-page SEO efforts such as backlink research, outreach, and competitor link analysis
- Monitor rankings, traffic, and visibility using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, and Screaming Frog
- Assist with keyword research and content gap analysis
- Track emerging trends in AI search and search engine algorithm updates
- Prepare regular reports summarizing findings and recommendations
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Required: Hands-on experience with WordPress (our website is built on WordPress) — comfortable editing pages, posts, plugins, and basic site settings
- Interest or prior experience in B2B SEO is a strong plus
- Basic understanding of how search engines and AI search tools work — including SEO (Search Engine Optimization), GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus (helpful for technical SEO tasks)
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, SEO-friendly blog content
- Excellent written communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine interest in SEO, AI search, and the future of search behavior
Nice to Have
- Prior exposure to SEO tools (Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz)
- Basic knowledge of structured data / schema.org markup
- Interest in generative AI tools and how they retrieve and cite content
