Requirements
We are looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong product and technical mindset—someone who has led highperforming teams in e-commerce, or product-driven companies. You will drive end-to-end delivery across multiple domains,
collaborating closely with foundations, security, and data teams, while mentoring your team to grow technically and
professionally.
Core Responsibilities
Guide Technical and Product Strategy: Partner in defining the technical roadmap for your area, ensuring
architectural choices and engineering efforts support overarching business goals.
- Oversee End-to-End Delivery: Work across departments—including product, design, and business teams—to
guarantee the consistent release of high-value, user-centric features.
- Develop Scalable and Robust Systems: Maintain a platform capable of serving millions of global users with a focus
on uptime, data protection, and speed.
- Handle Technical Debt: Lead efforts to modernize systems and optimize internal tools and workflows for ongoing
efficiency.
- Architect for the Future: Direct the creation of distributed, microservices-oriented architectures that remain
flexible across different cloud providers.
- Incorporate Advanced Technologies: Drive growth by integrating AI and Machine Learning into foundational
systems, specifically for predictive modelling and automated decision-making.
- Maintain Technical Involvement: Stay active in the codebase and design reviews to uphold high standards and
keep the team current with new technologies.
- Mentor and Cultivate Talent: Manage a high-achieving group of 10–15 engineers, providing the guidance and
coaching necessary for their professional growth.
- Monitor Performance and Manage Risks: Keep a close eye on project timelines and data, identifying and fixing
potential delays or obstacles before they impact delivery.
What you'll bring to the team
- Leadership Experience: A history of managing engineering teams of 10 or more individuals within fast-paced,
high-output environments.
- Engineering Background: At least 4 years of professional experience developing cloud-native, distributed systems.
- Frontend Expertise: 2–3 years of experience working with modern frameworks like React or Angular.
- Scalability Track Record: Demonstrated success in expanding the capacity and reach of platforms, products, or
services.
- Architectural Proficiency: Practical experience in the design and implementation of microservices and event driven systems (utilizing tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ).
- Technical Execution: Highly skilled in Java, Python, or Go, with a commitment to remaining active in day-to-day
engineering tasks.
- Cloud Infrastructure Mastery: Advanced understanding of cloud-native ecosystems, specifically Kubernetes and
CI/CD automation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively alongside product, security, data, and systems
design teams.
- Industry Background: Prior experience within e-commerce or product-centric organizations is a significant
advantage.
- Operational Excellence: Strong capabilities in managing projects, setting priorities, and navigating stakeholder
relationships.
