Job Purpose
To operate knotting machines for cotton greige and yarn-dyed shirting qualities, ensuring efficient knotting of warp ends during beam changes and minimizing loom downtime while maintaining fabric quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate knotting machines to join warp ends during beam changes for cotton greige and yarn-dyed shirting fabrics.
- Ensure knots are secure, uniform, and suitable for high-quality shirting production.
- Monitor machine performance and promptly address operational issues.
- Assist in preparing warp beams and aligning yarns for smooth knotting operations.
- Maintain knotting machine tools and accessories in good working condition.
- Report recurring yarn breakage or knotting defects to supervisors for corrective action.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the loom shed.
- Support production and quality teams in achieving defect-free woven fabric output.
Skills & Competencies
- Hands-on experience with knotting machines in textile weaving units.
- Knowledge of cotton greige and yarn-dyed shirting yarn properties with lease-to-lease knotting practice.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain knot uniformity.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for machine handling.
- Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with loom operators and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Basic education (reading/writing ability).
- Preferred: Prior experience as a knotting machine operator in textile mills.
Work Environment
- Loom shed with continuous machine operations.
- Requires standing for long hours and handling yarn beams.
- Shift-based work schedule.
Performance Indicators
- Knotting speed and accuracy.
- Reduction in loom stoppage time during beam changes.
- Fabric quality (absence of knot-related defects).
- Compliance with safety and operational standards.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
