Job description:
- Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 15+ years of work experience, working independently in machine design & development and support in either redesigning (or) developing an existing design for a new requirement (or) developing a new design for the first time for a given requirement.
- Strong Experience in R&D, NPD, Automation projects is mandatory for this role.
- Experience in Paper machineries, Converting and/or discrete product machineries is required.
- Should have worked on engineering projects from start to finish - Defining the project scope, Preparing a DOU / Specification, Ideation, Concept development, Detailed design, Design verification, Design Reviews, FMEA, FEA, DFX, engineering drawing release.
Technical skills:
- Engineering: Engineering Mechanics with experience in both Statics and Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Engineering design from first principles, engineering calculations for design validation, FEA, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, Stack-up analysis, Hydraulics, Pneumatics
- Materials: Knowledge of engineering materials and material selection for a given requirement, Knowledge of conventional and un-conventional manufacturing processes and associated tolerance.
- Parts selection: Experience in selection of OEM parts (bearings, sprockets, belts, etc.)
- Industry specific experience: Discrete machines / SPM / Machine Tool / Automation: Material Handling, Conveyor systems, Bulk Material handling, Industrial products
- CAD - should be able to create 3D models and associated 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T. Adherence to CAD standards – ISO, DIN, ANSI, experience in MBD will be an added advantage. CAD tools – experience in using SolidWorks and all the modules. Experience in using more than one CAD tool will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to machine building, installation and commissioning will be an added advantage
Mandatory Skills:
- Product / machine design and development experience following industry best practices
- Engineering calculations, stack-up analysis, GD&T
- Good proficiency in using engineering tools/techniques such as VAVE, FMEA, FEA, DFX
- Selection of material, OEM parts
- Good understanding of Electricals & Controls used in any product / machine
- 3D CAD tool skills - SolidWorks (Must)
- Project and People Management
- Problem solving skills - thinking outside the box, creative solutions for solving problems
- Ability to work independently
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering with minimum of fifteen (15+) years of experience, with the last 10+ years in hands-on design and development.
- Experience in OEM’s preferable, with exposure to machine installation, Commissioning and troubleshooting field issues.
Travel:
- May need to travel up to 10% each year based on requirements.
Key Result Areas:
- Preparing a DOU from an overview provided, estimation of efforts and schedule, presenting the DOU, seek clarifications and agree on the SOW, efforts, and schedule
- Ability to study, understand existing machine function and the required changes, and initiate technical discussion with respective product managers

- Delivering error free manufacturing drawings with GD&T following ISO/DIN/ANSI standards

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
