Key Responsibilities
- In-Line Inspection: Audit garments directly on the sewing lines to catch stitching errors before products proceed down the line.
- Measurement Verification: Measure garments against the approved buyer size spec sheet to ensure exact tolerances are met.
- Defect Identification: Spot and categorize fabric, sewing, and trimming defects (e.g., skipped stitches, puckering, shading, stains).
- AQL Testing: Perform statistical sampling inspections based on standard Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) tables (e.g., AQL 1.5 or 2.5).
- Reporting: Maintain daily inspection logs, rejection reports, and pass rates to share with the production team.
- Final Audit: Conduct final random inspections of packed cartons to verify barcode labels, packaging style, and assortments. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or a degree/diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Designing, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of garment construction, fabric faults, and sewing defects.
- Visual Acuity: Strong eye for detail, color shading differentiation, and fabric alignment flaws.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical specification sheets (Tech Packs) and measurement charts.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a QC on a woven, knit, or denim factory floor. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
