Job Title: Motor / Maintenance Mechanic – MHE Rentals
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Motor/MHE Mechanic to join our rental operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of a diverse fleet of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) on-hire and off-hire. You will ensure maximum equipment uptime, safety compliance, and rental readiness for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repairs: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system faults in various MHEs (Internal Combustion/Diesel/Electric Forklifts, Reach Trucks, Stackers, BOPTs, and Scissor Lifts).
- Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Perform routine maintenance schedules, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake adjustments, and battery health checks to prevent on-site breakdowns.
- Engine & Transmission Overhauling: Service, repair, or overhaul internal combustion engines (diesel/LPG) and transmission systems.
- Hydraulic Systems: Inspect and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses to ensure optimal lifting performance.
- Electrical & Electronics: Diagnose electric MHE issues involving controllers, motors, wiring harnesses, sensors, and battery charging systems.
- Breakdown Support: Provide rapid response to breakdown calls at client sites (warehouses, factories, logistics hubs) to minimize rental downtime.
- Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI): Conduct thorough safety and performance checks before equipment is dispatched to a rental site.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Diesel Mechanic certification.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing Material Handling Equipment (MHE) or heavy machinery (experience with brands like Toyota, Linde, Godrej, Voltas, or Jungheinrich is a plus).
- Technical Knowledge: * Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in diagnosing both IC (Diesel/LPG) engines and Electric (Lead-Acid/Lithium-ion) battery-operated equipment.
- Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using mechanical hand tools, diagnostic scanners, multimeters, and pressure gauges.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Equipment Uptime: Maximizing the availability of the rental fleet.
- Mean Time to Repair (MTTR): Ensuring quick resolution of breakdowns.
- First-Time Fix Rate: Resolving issues correctly on the first attempt to minimize repeat complaints.
- Safety Compliance: Maintaining zero tolerance for safety violations on equipment.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
