Job Title: Technical Manager
Job Summary
The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the technical operations of geospatial and surveying projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables, efficient workflows, and adherence to client requirements. This role oversees technical teams, manages project execution, develops standards and SOPs, and provides technical expertise in surveying, GIS, UAV, LiDAR, BIM, and CAD services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the technical department for surveying and geospatial projects.
Plan, allocate, and monitor technical resources to ensure timely project delivery.
Review and approve survey data, CAD drawings, GIS datasets, BIM models, and final deliverables.
Develop and implement technical standards, quality control procedures, and SOPs.
Provide technical guidance to survey engineers, GIS specialists, CAD technicians, and BIM modelers.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and resolve technical issues.
Oversee processing of UAV, LiDAR, laser scanning, GNSS, topographic, hydrographic, and utility mapping data.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and health and safety regulations.
Monitor project performance, technical risks, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies, software, and workflows to improve productivity and quality.
Conduct technical training and mentoring for engineering and production teams.
Support business development by providing technical input for proposals, tenders, and client presentations.
Manage software licenses, technical infrastructure, and equipment requirements.
Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and performance metrics for senior management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, or a related field.
5-10+ years of experience in surveying, geospatial, GIS, or engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Professional certifications are an advantage.
