Design Team Lead – Roles & Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Design Team Lead is responsible for leading and managing the interior design team to ensure the successful delivery of projects from concept development through completion. This role combines design leadership, project coordination, client relationship management, team development, and quality assurance while maintaining design excellence, project schedules, and budget objectives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Interior Designers and design support staff.
- Allocate project assignments and manage team workload to ensure optimal resource utilization.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Support professional development, training, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team culture.
2. Design Management
- Oversee the development of design concepts, space planning, and project documentation.
- Review and approve design proposals, presentations, drawings, specifications, and material selections.
- Ensure consistency in design quality, creativity, and compliance with company standards.
- Guide the team in developing innovative design solutions that meet client requirements and project objectives.
- Monitor design deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Lead client meetings to understand project requirements, objectives, and expectations.
- Present design concepts, solutions, and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage client communications and resolve design-related concerns effectively.
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients to support repeat business opportunities.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Project Planning & Coordination
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
- Monitor project milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Manage project documentation, approvals, and change requests.
- Ensure smooth coordination of product procurement, deliveries, installations, and site activities.
5. Budget & Cost Control
- Review project budgets, estimates, and design-related costs.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines.
- Monitor material selections and procurement activities to optimize cost efficiency.
- Support the preparation of furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E) cost estimates.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising design quality.
6. Technical Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents for accuracy.
- Conduct quality checks throughout design development and project execution phases.
- Address technical challenges and provide solutions to minimize project risks.
- Maintain adherence to company quality standards and best practices.
7. Site Coordination & Project Execution
- Conduct site visits to verify measurements, monitor progress, and resolve field issues.
- Ensure accurate as-built documentation and project records.
- Coordinate installation activities and verify compliance with approved designs.
- Manage design modifications arising from site conditions or client requirements.
- Support project handover and post-completion reviews.
8. Process Improvement & Reporting
- Develop and implement design processes, standards, and best practices.
- Track project performance metrics and prepare management reports.
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Maintain organized project records and documentation systems.
- Support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement programs within the design department.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
