Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager with a strong background in bus transport operations, specifically within MNC Companies or government depots. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing a fleet of approximately 200 buses and overseeing all day-to-day operational, administrative, and compliance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate daily operations of a 200-bus fleet.
- Supervise depot staff, drivers, and operational teams.
- Ensure adherence to government transport rules, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee scheduling, routing, trip planning, and deployment of buses.
- Manage breakdowns, maintenance coordination, and fleet availability.
- Optimize fuel usage, manpower planning, and cost control.
- Liaise with government authorities, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Handle passenger service issues, accident reporting, and operational emergencies.
- Monitor KPI performance, prepare reports, and implement improvements.
- Lead disciplinary processes, staff training, and operational audits.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5 years experience in bus transport operations.
- Prior experience in a government depot / public transport undertaking
- Proven ability to manage large fleets (200+ buses).
- Strong understanding of transport regulations, permit systems, and safety norms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with fleet management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage shift-based operations.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
