FARMKING is an established manufacturer of agricultural implements and tractor attachments, including cultivators, rotary tillers, seed drills, disc ploughs, disc harrows, land levellers and tipping trailers.
Job Summary
We are looking for a SolidWorks Designer to create and maintain 3D models, mechanical assemblies, manufacturing drawings and related design documents for agricultural machinery and tractor attachments.
The role requires coordination with production, fabrication and assembly teams to ensure that designs are accurate, practical and suitable for manufacturing. The level of independent responsibility will be assigned according to the candidate’s experience and practical capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D part models, assemblies and sub-assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Apply correct dimensions, tolerances, material details and drawing specifications.
- Convert concepts, sketches, measurements and existing components into CAD models.
- Prepare or assist in preparing sheet-metal, weldment and structural-component designs.
- Prepare assembly drawings, exploded views and Bills of Materials.
- Modify existing designs based on production requirements, trials and field feedback.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, machining and assembly teams for design clarification and feasibility.
- Support prototype development, fitment checking and design corrections.
- Maintain CAD files, drawing numbers, revisions, BOMs and engineering records.
Required Skills
- Practical knowledge of SolidWorks part modelling, assemblies and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of 2D drafting, dimensions, fits and tolerances.
- Understanding of mechanical components and machine assemblies.
- Basic knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining and assembly processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good attention to detail, problem-solving ability and coordination skills.
Preferred Exposure
- Sheet-metal and weldment design.
- BOM preparation and revision control.
- AutoCAD or other mechanical CAD software.
- Machinery manufacturing, fabrication or product-development work.
- Agricultural machinery or tractor-implement design.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, CAD or a relevant technical discipline.
- Candidates with ITI and recognized CAD/SolidWorks training may also be considered based on relevant practical experience.
- 6 months–5 years of relevant experience in SolidWorks or mechanical design.
- Practical experience in 3D modelling, assemblies and manufacturing drawings is required.
- CSWA, CSWP or another relevant CAD certification will be an added advantage but is not mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Monthly CTC: ₹15,000–₹35,000
- EPF and ESI as per statutory applicability
- Other allowances, leave and benefits as per Company policy
- 6 days working with Sunday weekly off
