To operate and control extrusion lines for manufacturing high-performance fluoropolymer insulated wires (PFA, ETFE, FEP), ensuring adherence to quality standards, process parameters, and production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate wire extrusion line for fluoropolymers (PFA, ETFE, FEP).
- Set up extrusion line including:
- Pay-off (conductor feeding)
- Extruder (barrel, screw, heaters)
- Crosshead / die setup
- Cooling system (air/water)
- Take-up system
- Ensure correct conductor centering and insulation thickness control.
- Set and monitor critical parameters:
- Barrel temperature zones (high temp ~250–400°C depending on material)
- Line speed
- Melt pressure
- Cooling conditions
- Perform die and tip selection/changeover as per wire size.
- Conduct first-off inspection:
- Diameter
- Insulation thickness
- Spark test / HV test
- Surface finish
- Monitor and control online quality checks:
- Eccentricity
- Diameter variation
- Surface defects
- Identify and troubleshoot extrusion defects:
- Pinholes
- Rough surface
- Die lines
- Melt fracture
- Eccentric insulation
- Maintain process logs and production reports.
- Ensure proper material handling and drying (if required).
- Follow SOPs, safety, and cleanroom/controlled environment practices (if applicable).
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and 5S activities.
Coordinate with quality and maintenance teams for process improvements
