Job Overview
Gcarbon Private Limited is looking for an experienced GHG & ESG Auditor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the technical execution and delivery of projects related to GHG emissions, carbon accounting, ESG assessment, sustainability reporting, environmental data, and audit/assessment activities.
The role involves end-to-end project ownership, including client interaction, data collection and validation, technical analysis, auditing, report preparation, client presentations, and project closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct GHG accounting, carbon footprint assessments, and ESG assessments.
- Prepare and review Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions inventories.
- Collect, review, validate, and analyse GHG and ESG data.
- Review activity data, emission factors, calculations, and supporting documents.
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, errors, and potential reporting issues.
- Conduct GHG/ESG audits, assessments, and verification-related activities.
- Prepare GHG inventory, carbon footprint, ESG, and audit reports.
- Support BRSR/BRSR Core and sustainability reporting requirements.
- Develop findings, recommendations, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings and communicate technical requirements and findings.
- Present project results and respond to client queries.
- Manage assigned projects from initial discussion through final delivery.
- Coordinate with internal team members and ensure timely project completion.
- Guide and share technical knowledge with the internal team on GHG and ESG-related activities.
- Identify opportunities related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, decarbonization, and emissions reduction.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- GHG Accounting
- Carbon Accounting
- Carbon Footprinting
- GHG Inventory Preparation/Verification
- ESG Auditing or Assessment
- Sustainability Reporting
- Environmental Auditing
- ESG Data Management
- Climate/Sustainability Consulting
Preferred Professional Background
Candidates with experience as a GHG Auditor, ESG Auditor, Carbon Consultant, GHG Consultant, Sustainability Consultant, Environmental Auditor, Carbon Accounting Specialist, or ESG/Sustainability Reporting Professional will be preferred.
Technical Knowledge
The candidate should have practical knowledge of:
- GHG Protocol
- Scope 1, Scope 2 & Scope 3 emissions
- GHG inventory development
- Carbon footprint calculations
- Activity data collection and validation
- Emission factor selection and application
- GHG data quality and controls
- GHG verification and validation
- ESG data assessment
- BRSR / BRSR Core
- Sustainability reporting
Knowledge of ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-3, GRI Standards, CDP, ISSB/IFRS Sustainability Standards, TCFD, SBTi, ISO 14001, or ISO 50001 will be an added advantage.

Certifications/training in the following will be an advantage:

- BRSR / ESG Assurance
- ISO 14001 Lead Auditor

Certifications are preferred but may not be mandatory for candidates with strong practical experience.

Salary
₹30,000 – ₹1,20,000 per month
Final compensation will depend on experience, technical expertise, GHG/ESG auditing experience, project-handling capability, certifications, and overall suitability for the role.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a professional who can independently handle GHG and ESG assignments, work directly with clients, analyse and validate data, conduct audits/assessments, prepare technical reports, identify improvement opportunities, and take ownership of projects from initiation to completion.
The ideal candidate should be able to understand → collect → validate → calculate → audit → analyse → report → present → recommend → close projects effectively.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
