- Ensure overall safety compliance across the plant and maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of production, maintenance, utility, warehouse and other plant areas.
- Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Conduct HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) and risk assessments for plant activities.
- Implement and monitor the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, including hot work, confined space, work at height, electrical work and line breaking.
- Ensure proper implementation of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and energy isolation procedures.
- Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and ensure proper usage by employees and contractors.
- Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks and regular safety training for employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences and prepare RCA and corrective action reports.
- Monitor and ensure closure of safety observations, audit findings and corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct periodic safety audits, inspections and compliance checks.
- Maintain all required safety records, registers, reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Factories / Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions legislation, State Factory Rules and other statutory safety requirements.
- Coordinate with Factory Inspectorate/DISH and other statutory authorities during inspections and audits.
- Support preparation, implementation and periodic review of the Emergency Response Plan / On-Site Emergency Plan.
- Conduct mock drills for fire, chemical leakage, emergency evacuation and other emergency situations.
- Ensure inspection and readiness of fire-fighting equipment, emergency exits, alarms and other emergency response systems.
- Monitor contractor safety and ensure contractors comply with plant safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Conduct contractor safety induction, audits and toolbox meetings.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, HR and other departments for implementation of safety initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture and encourage employees to report hazards and near misses.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly safety reports and maintain plant safety KPIs.
- Monitor safety performance indicators such as accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, safety observations and corrective action closure.
- Assist in implementation and continual improvement of the EHS / Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Ensure safe practices during shutdown, maintenance, erection, commissioning and other critical plant activities.
- Conduct safety awareness campaigns and improvement initiatives across the plant.
- Perform any other safety-related responsibilities assigned by the Plant Head / EHS Head.
Qualification & Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering/Technology or relevant Science qualification.
- ADIS / PDIS / DIS / recognized Diploma in Industrial Safety is mandatory/preferred as applicable.
- Additional qualification in Fire & Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH or ISO 45001 will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in plant/manufacturing Safety/EHS.
- Hands-on experience in HIRA, PTW, LOTO, incident investigation, emergency response, safety audits and statutory compliance.
- Experience in handling contractor safety and plant-level safety operations.
- Strong communication, coordination, documentation and problem-solving skills.
Pay: Up to ₹45,000.00 per month
