1. Impact Studies and Field Research
Support impact assessment studies by conducting field activities such as classroom observations, student assessments, surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions as per study protocols. Maintain accurate field records and documentation, and coordinate with students, teachers, Ignators, programme teams, and other stakeholders during data collection.
2. Digital Data Collection, Quality & Trainings
Support digital and paper-based data collection using in-house tools, large-scale data uploads on platform, Google Forms, or similar platforms, including basic questionnaire setup and procurement with vendors. Monitor data submissions for completeness, timeliness, and quality, and support field teams in resolving data-collection and tool-related issues. Train and support field staff, Ignators, and programme teams on assessment tools, data-collection procedures, consent processes, and case-story documentation.
3. Data Analysis, Visualization & Reporting
Support descriptive analysis of quantitative data using Microsoft Excel or other analytical tools. Prepare summaries using tables, pivot tables, charts, dashboards, and basic statistical measures. Support the coding and thematic analysis of interviews, case stories, observations, focus group discussions, and open-ended responses. Identify patterns, trends, differences, unexpected findings, and potential data-quality issues while interpreting findings in relation to programme objectives, outcomes, and Agastya’s Vision and Mission. Make high-quality donor-facing impact report briefs and present the findings.
4. Case Stories and Qualitative Documentation
Identify potential case stories through field observations, interviews, and programme data. Conduct structured and ethical interviews with students, teachers, Ignators, and other stakeholders. Write clear, evidence-based case stories in English.
5. Research Ethics, Safeguarding, and Data Protection Follow ethical standards for research and data collection and day-to-day work conduct involving children, colleagues and communities including familiarity with DPDP Act protocols, POSH & POCSO. Use respectful, age-appropriate, gender-sensitive, inclusive, and culturally appropriate research practices. Qualifications Graduate or postgraduate qualification in one or more of the following areas: Education, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Science, Research or related disciplines. Familiarity of research methods is desired.
Fresh graduates and candidates with relevant internships, academic research, volunteer work, field exposure, or development-sector experience are encouraged to apply. Understanding of basic concepts such as outputs, outcomes, indicators, baseline, endline, sampling, and evidence. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to clean, organize, review, and summarize datasets. Good presentation making skills is desired.
Willingness to learn digital data-collection and analytical tools. Communication Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to write clear reports, field notes, case stories, and assessment summaries. Ability to communicate research instructions to field teams and programme stakeholders. Professional Competencies High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Analytical thinking and curiosity about why and how change occurs.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Openness to feedback and willingness to learn. Ability to work in changing field conditions and manage competing priorities. Preferred Skills and Experience (Not Mandatory) Previous internship, volunteer work, or employment in an NGO, education, research, or socialimpact organization.
Exposure to Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning. Exposure to SPSS, R, Python, Stata, or another statistical analysis tool would be a plus. Experience preparing dashboards, donor reports, impact briefs, case studies, or learning documents.
