Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in production, process operations, or manufacturing, preferably in the industrial minerals, chemicals, ceramics, cement, mining, or process manufacturing industry.
Job Summary
The Production Engineer will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing production activities to ensure efficient operations, consistent product quality, and timely achievement of production targets. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional departments, improving manufacturing processes, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and execute daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
- Monitor production processes to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Stores, and Purchase departments for uninterrupted production.
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain daily production reports, shift reports, and other production documentation.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Train and guide production operators on process improvements and operational best practices.
- Monitor material consumption and control production waste.
- Participate in new process implementation and production trials.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production planning.
- Knowledge of process optimization and productivity improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to interpret production data and prepare performance reports.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and team coordination abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in industrial minerals, kaolin processing, chemicals, ceramics, cement, mining, or other process manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems, and safety management practices.
- Experience working with production KPIs such as OEE, yield, downtime, and productivity metrics will be an added advantage.
