Job Description
The Sr. Production Merchandiser will be responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling all aspects of hand embroidery production. This role ensures that client orders are executed with precision, quality, and efficiency, while maintaining smooth coordination between artisans, supervisors, merchandisers, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution
· Develop and implement production schedules to meet delivery timelines.
· Allocate tasks to supervisors and artisans, ensuring optimal use of manpower and resources.
· Monitor daily progress and resolve operational bottlenecks.
Quality Control
· Establish and enforce quality standards for embroidery work.
· Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and finishing requirements.
· Implement corrective measures for defects or deviations.
Team Management
· Supervise embroidery supervisors, artisans, and support staff.
· Provide training and guidance on embroidery techniques and production efficiency.
· Maintain discipline, motivation, and a safe working environment.
Resource & Inventory Management
· Oversee procurement and usage of threads, fabrics, beads, sequins, and other embroidery materials.
· Maintain accurate stock records and minimize wastage.
· Coordinate with vendors for timely supply of raw materials.
Client & Merchandising Coordination
· Work closely with merchandisers and designers to ensure production aligns with client expectations.
· Incorporate client feedback into ongoing production processes.
· Ensure timely communication on order status and delivery schedules.
Compliance & Reporting
· Ensure compliance with labor laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
· Maintain production records, attendance, and performance reports.
· Prepare periodic MIS reports for management review.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with international buyers and export houses.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for craftsmanship and finishing.
- Ability to balance traditional artisan skills with modern production efficiency.
- Strong analytical skills for costing and margin management.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and compliance standards.
Qualification Requirements
· Graduate in Textile/Production Management or equivalent experience in embroidery manufacturing.
· 7–8 years of experience in embroidery production management.
· Strong knowledge of hand embroidery techniques, materials, and finishing processes.
· Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
· Proficiency in MS Office; ERP/production software knowledge is an advantage.
