Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced Android AOSP Platform Developer to develop and customize the Android operating system for our motion-based gaming console. You will work on Android platform development, AOSP customization, hardware integration, system optimization, and low-level software to deliver a fast, secure, and reliable gaming experience.
You will collaborate closely with embedded engineers, Unity developers, AI/computer vision engineers, and hardware teams to build a consumer device from prototype to production.
Android Platform Development
- Design, develop, and integrate software components for our Android-based motion gaming console.
- Customize the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) to support our hardware platform and gaming experience.
- Perform Android AOSP porting and migration across new hardware platforms and Android versions.
- Develop and maintain Android platform features for consumer devices.
Android Framework & Native Development
- Customize the Android Framework and System Services to support product-specific features.
- Develop and maintain HIDL/AIDL interfaces, native services, and system daemons.
- Implement platform-level features using C/C++ and Java.
- Modify Android system components to improve performance, security, and usability.
Hardware & HAL Integration
- Integrate SoC SDKs, device drivers, and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) components.
- Support integration of cameras, audio, networking, USB peripherals, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
- Configure and optimize hardware communication between Android and peripheral devices.
- Work closely with embedded and hardware teams during board bring-up and hardware validation.
System Optimization
- Optimize boot time, memory usage, CPU/GPU performance, and system responsiveness.
- Improve stability and reliability of the Android platform.
- Troubleshoot platform-level issues and resolve system bottlenecks.
- Support performance tuning for real-time motion gaming and computer vision workloads.
Platform Security & Device Management
- Configure kiosk mode, launcher customization, and device lockdown.
- Support secure boot, OTA updates, and system recovery mechanisms.
- Implement device provisioning and first-time setup workflows.
- Ensure platform stability across software updates.
Debugging & Testing
- Debug platform issues using ADB, Logcat, kernel logs, and native debugging tools.
- Test Android platform functionality across hardware revisions.
- Collaborate with QA teams to validate platform releases.
- Support manufacturing and production software validation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:

- Participate in architecture discussions and platform planning.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Android AOSP development and customization.
- Hands-on experience with Android platform porting and migration.
- Strong knowledge of Android Framework internals.
- Experience developing HIDL/AIDL interfaces and native services.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Java.
- Strong Linux system programming and debugging skills.
- Experience integrating HAL components and SoC SDKs.
- Familiarity with Android build systems and platform development tools.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–7 years of experience in Android platform or embedded software development.
- Proven experience in Android AOSP porting and platform customization.
- Experience delivering embedded Android products from development through production.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
