We are looking for a highly skilled Founding Distributed Systems Engineer to design and build scalable global infrastructure systems. This role focuses on distributed architecture, networking, traffic routing, system reliability, and large-scale infrastructure performance.
You will work on building resilient systems capable of handling global traffic with high availability, low latency, and efficient failover mechanisms.
Responsibilities
- Design and build globally distributed infrastructure systems
- Work on traffic routing, geo-routing, DNS, and load balancing strategies
- Improve system scalability, reliability, and performance across regions
- Build failover and recovery systems for high availability infrastructure
- Optimize latency and network performance for distributed services
- Collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams on architecture decisions
- Monitor and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems and network issues
- Help establish infrastructure best practices, observability, and system resilience
Requirements
- Strong understanding of distributed architecture and scalable systems
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, DNS, load balancing, and system reliability
- Experience with containerized infrastructure and orchestration tools is a plus
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on high-scale infrastructure and reliability challenges
Good to Have
- Experience with BGP, Anycast, geo-routing, or edge infrastructure
- Familiarity with CDN or large-scale network systems
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and infrastructure automation
- Exposure to globally distributed production environments
