Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Detailing Checker with 3 to 4+ years of experience in checking structural steel detailing drawings and models. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing fabrication and erection drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with project standards and client requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of structural steel detailing practices, checking standards, and coordination with detailing teams to ensure error-free deliverables.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and check structural steel detailing drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and shop drawings.
- Verify dimensions, weld details, bolt details, material specifications, and connection details.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, AISC standards, OSHA standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with detailers, modelers, project coordinators, and engineers to resolve discrepancies and technical issues.
- Perform checking of 3D models and drawing outputs generated from Tekla Structures or other detailing software.
- Identify and rectify clashes, omissions, and detailing errors before final submission.
- Ensure quality standards and project timelines are maintained.
- Review BOM (Bill of Materials) and material quantities for accuracy.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control during project execution.
- Support project teams in achieving client deliverables and quality expectations.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of structural steel detailing and checking procedures.
- Experience in checking fabrication and erection drawings.
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or related detailing software.
- Good understanding of steel connections and fabrication standards.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Attention to detail and quality-oriented approach.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in US/International steel detailing projects.
- Knowledge of AISC, OSHA, and other relevant steel standards.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
