Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Develop and implement strategies to
grow business with Indian Railways (Zonal Railways,DRM’s, Production Units, RDSO, CORE, IRCON, RITES, RVNL, Metro Rail, DDFC etc.). Achieve assigned
order booking and revenue targets for the railway segment.
Customer Relationship Management Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior officials such as PCEE, CEE, , SrDEE, SrDMM, and RDSO departments. Regularly engage with procurement divisions, electrical engineering departments, and project implementation agencies.
Market Intelligence & Tendering Track upcoming tenders, rate contracts, and procurement plans of Indian Railways. Ensure timely
participation in railway tenders (GeM, IREPS, and e-procurement portals). Monitor competitor activities and develop strategies to improve market share.
Application & Product Promotion Conduct technical presentations, product demos, and knowledge sessions for railway engineers and decision-makers. Work closely with the Application Team to align solutions with railway requirements (transformer testing, cable diagnostics, relay testing, substation commissioning, etc.). Participate in railway expos, conferences, and seminars to showcase products.
Internal Coordination Collaborate with the Sales Support, Application, and Service Teams to ensure timely proposal submission, order execution, and customer satisfaction. Provide regular
sales forecasts, MIS reports, and account updates to management. Support marketing in preparing case studies, success stories, and technical articles for the railway sector.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of
Indian Railways’ procurement processes (IREPS, GeM, RDSO approvals). Ability to build senior-level customer relationships in a government/public sector environment. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Technical understanding of testing & measurement solutions in electrical systems (preferred:
transformers, relays, cables, switchgear). Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
Performance Metrics (KPI):
Achievement of sales & revenue targets. Number of tenders participated & conversion ratio. New account development in railway zones & production units. Relationship index with senior railway officials. Customer satisfaction & repeat business.
Required Qualifications:
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (mandatory). MBA preferred.
Required Experience:
4-5 years in sales/business development of electrical equipment/T&M instruments in the railway or power sector.
