Job Summary
The Aaminia Group is seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Chef to support the Head Chef in food preparation, kitchen operations, quality control, and maintaining hygiene standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Assamese, Indian, or Chinese cuisine and be capable of managing kitchen activities efficiently during service hours.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking menu items.
- Ensure food is prepared according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Support menu planning and recipe development.
Kitchen Operations
- Supervise Commis Chefs and Kitchen Helpers.
- Ensure smooth workflow during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
- Coordinate with service staff for timely order execution.
- Assist in daily production planning.
Food Quality Control
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
- Monitor food presentation before service.
- Maintain company quality standards.
Hygiene & Food Safety
- Follow FSSAI guidelines and food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
- Ensure proper personal hygiene practices.
- Monitor food storage temperatures and stock rotation (FIFO).
Inventory Management
- Assist in stock monitoring and requisition preparation.
- Control food wastage and spoilage.
- Coordinate with the Store Department for raw material requirements.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits.
Team Support
- Train junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and SOPs.
- Support Head Chef in staff scheduling and task allocation.
- Promote teamwork and discipline within the kitchen.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or Hospitality Management preferred.
- Professional culinary training is an added advantage.
Experience Required
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, café, or catering kitchen.
- Experience in Assamese, Indian, or Chinese cuisine preferred.
