VMC Programmer and Operator Job Description:-
A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Programmer and Operator writes, modifies, and executes VMC programs to manufacture precision components. They bridge the gap between initial design and final production by setting up the machine, optimizing cutting tools, and ensuring the manufactured parts meet strict engineering tolerances. Responsibilities
- Programming: Create and edit 2D or 3D machining programs manually using G-codes and M-codesor via CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Powermill).
- Machine Setup: Load raw materials, install fixtures, and perform work and tool offsets to prepare the VMC for production.
- Tooling Optimization: Select the correct cutting tools, drills, and end mills while regulating spindle speeds and feed rates to ensure optimal tool life and surface finish.
- Quality Control: Read and interpret technical blueprints to inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Troubleshooting: Monitor machining operations in real-time to adjust parameters, resolve errors, and perform routine machine maintenance.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of machining parameters, material properties, and blueprint reading.
- Controllers: Proficiency with industry-standard control systems such as Mitsubishi
- Education & Experience: Typically requires an ITI, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Machinist trades, alongside 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
