About the Role
Bright Light Society is seeking a skilled and motivated Domestic Data Entry Operator Trainer to design and deliver vocational training programs that equip local youth and community members with practical data entry and basic computer skills, improving their employability and livelihood prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and deliver training modules on data entry, typing speed and accuracy, MS Office (Word, Excel), and basic computer literacy
- Conduct classroom and hands-on practical sessions for trainees, including those from underserved or first-generation learner backgrounds
- Assess trainee progress through regular tests, typing speed evaluations, and skill audits
- Maintain training records, attendance registers, and performance reports for each batch
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to trainees who need additional help
- Coordinate with the program coordinator to schedule batches, manage training calendars, and report outcomes to NGO leadership and funders
- Liaise with local employers or placement partners to facilitate job placement for trained candidates
- Maintain and troubleshoot basic issues with computer lab equipment and software
- Ensure training content stays updated with current industry data entry standards and tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (any discipline); a diploma/certification in computer applications or vocational training is preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in data entry operations, with prior training or teaching experience strongly preferred
- Proficient typing speed (minimum 35-40 WPM in English; Tamil typing knowledge is a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word
- Good communication skills in Tamil and English

- Patience and ability to teach learners with varying skill levels, including those with limited prior computer exposure
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Passion for community development and social impact work
- Prior experience working with NGOs or vocational training centers is an advantage
