Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Nursing Tutor / Nurse Educator to join our healthcare team in RT Nagar, Bengaluru. The candidate will be responsible for training, mentoring, and developing junior nurses to ensure they have the required clinical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies to deliver safe and quality patient care.
The ideal candidate should be an experienced senior nurse with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities1. Nursing Training & Education
- Conduct structured training and orientation programs for newly joined and junior nursing staff.
- Provide theoretical and practical training on essential nursing procedures and clinical practices.
- Train nurses on hospital protocols, nursing standards, and patient care procedures.
- Conduct regular educational sessions, demonstrations, and skill-based training programs.
2. Clinical Skills Development
- Train junior nurses in essential clinical nursing procedures and patient care techniques.
- Provide hands-on guidance on medication administration, IV procedures, wound care, infection control, vital monitoring, and other nursing practices.
- Ensure nurses understand and follow proper clinical protocols and safety procedures.
- Identify individual training needs and provide appropriate support.
3. Mentoring & Supervision
- Mentor and guide junior nurses in their day-to-day clinical responsibilities.
- Observe nursing practices and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.
- Support nurses in developing confidence, clinical competence, and professional behaviour.
- Act as a role model and provide guidance on ethical and professional nursing practices.
4. Training Assessment & Evaluation
- Assess the knowledge and practical competency of nursing staff.
- Conduct skill assessments, competency evaluations, and periodic performance reviews.
- Maintain training records and competency documentation.
- Identify gaps in knowledge and skills and recommend corrective training.
5. Quality & Patient Safety
- Ensure nursing staff adhere to infection prevention and control practices.
- Promote patient safety and quality standards across nursing services.
- Train staff on emergency procedures and appropriate response protocols.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
6. Training Program Development
- Develop and update nursing training modules and educational materials.
- Organize induction and refresher training programs.
- Coordinate with Nursing Administration and Clinical Teams to identify training requirements.
- Support continuous professional development initiatives for nursing staff.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, assessments, and competency evaluations.
- Prepare periodic training and performance reports for Nursing Management.
- Track the progress and development of junior nursing staff.
Qualification
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- M.Sc Nursing will be an added advantage.
- Valid nursing registration with the relevant Nursing Council.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Experience as a Senior Staff Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Clinical Nurse Educator, Nursing Tutor, or Nurse Trainer will be preferred.
- Candidates with previous experience in training and mentoring junior nurses will have an added advantage.
