Job Purpose
The Head Chef is responsible for the day-to-day management of kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality food while maintaining operational efficiency, food safety standards, cost control, and team performance. The role supports the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences and achieving operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Manage daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth execution of food production activities.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, consistency, and presentation in accordance with approved recipes and brand standards.
- Supervise food preparation and service to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure all menu items are prepared according to standardized recipes and specifications.
- Monitor kitchen workflow and coordinate activities to meet service requirements.
Food Quality & Menu Development
- Support the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal menu updates.
- Continuously review menu performance and suggest improvements based on customer feedback and market trends.
- Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes.
- Ensure proper portion control and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities effectively among team members.
- Conduct on-the-job training and skills development programs.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching and guidance when required.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout kitchen and storage areas.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and stock rotation procedures.
- Conduct regular hygiene inspections and corrective actions where necessary.
- Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing requirements.
- Control food costs through effective portion management and waste reduction.
- Ensure accurate stock rotation and inventory management practices.
- Assist in monthly stock counts and inventory reporting.
- Monitor equipment usage and report maintenance requirements promptly.
- Guest Satisfaction & Service Excellence
- Support service teams to ensure timely and efficient food delivery.
- Address guest feedback related to food quality and presentation.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and hospitality.
- Stay updated with current culinary trends and best practices.
Occasional Duties
- Assist with special events, banquets, and catering functions.
- Support new menu launches and promotional activities.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef or Management.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
