Telecom Design Engineer
Position Summary
The Telecom Design Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of telecommunications infrastructure and network solutions. The role involves developing concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for fibre optic, wireless, and communications systems while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, client requirements, and project objectives. The Telecom Design Engineer works closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective telecommunications solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Engineering
- Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed telecom designs.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, and design documentation.
- Design fibre optic, copper, wireless, and telecommunications network infrastructure.
- Produce design packages suitable for construction and implementation.
- Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with project requirements.
Project Delivery
- Support project delivery from planning through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Participate in technical reviews and design verification processes.
- Provide design support during construction and commissioning activities.
Technical Compliance
- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, client standards, and telecommunications industry requirements.
- Undertake design risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
- Support engineering assurance and quality management processes.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with clients, authorities, utility providers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Provide technical advice and support to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve design processes and delivery efficiency.
- Contribute to technical innovation and best-practice engineering solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers where required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Membership of Engineers Australia or a relevant professional body desirable.
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status desirable.
Experience
- Experience in telecommunications design and engineering.
- Knowledge of fibre optic, wireless, and communications systems.
- Experience in infrastructure, utilities, transport, or telecommunications projects.
- Understanding of design development, construction, and commissioning processes.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
