Job Title: Backend Team LeaderJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Backend Team Leader to lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable backend architectures, managing development workflows, mentoring team members, ensuring code quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance applications. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive projects from conception to deployment.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership
- Lead and supervise the backend development team in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend systems and APIs.
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performing server-side applications.
- Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks.
- Oversee database design, optimization, and maintenance.
Team Management
- Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure timely project delivery.
- Mentor and guide backend developers, providing technical support and career development assistance.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and technical discussions.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Project Management
- Coordinate with product managers, frontend developers, QA teams, and stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet quality and business expectations.
- Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
System Performance & Security
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and availability.
- Implement and maintain data security measures and compliance standards.
- Monitor application performance and recommend improvements.
- Manage server deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure where applicable.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain technical documentation for backend architecture, APIs, and workflows.
- Prepare status reports and provide updates to management regarding project progress and team performance.
- Establish and enforce development processes and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of backend development experience with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, PHP, .NET, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Reporting To
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
