1. Core Responsibilities
- Support the Product Owner in identifying product improvement opportunities in line with business Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs), the Product Owner’s vision and roadmap.
- Conduct business impact assessments, feasibility studies and research into systems, processes and products as required, making recommendations for the best options available to meet business objectives.
- Support the Product Owner in prioritising the backlog and backlog items based on business value and delivery constraints and dependencies
- Responsible for the requirement elicitation and analysis for the prioritised backlog within agreed timelines decomposing into functional and technical user stories and ensuring that they are clear, concise, actionable and testable. Through this process ensure timely and relevant engagement with business stakeholders, engineering and other technical specialists. All analysis activity and outcomes to maintain close alignment with the overall vision as defined by the product owner. Apply concepts of Lean Agile, Customer Centricity and Design Thinking within the analysis approach.
- Where required support with creation of RFP documentation for the selection of solution components from new or existing vendors in line with OSB Group standards and consistent with direction from Architecture and Procurement professionals.
- Assure the quality of analysis artefacts building-in quality through a range of techniques including peer and expert review, upholding artefact standards, maintaining tool-based trace, and applying fail-fast build and learn techniques such as modelling, wireframing, and prototyping.
- Actively participate in all relevant Agile events such as PI planning, backlog refinement and retrospectives advocating for alignment and relentless improvement.
- Proactively undertakes self-development activities to cultivate Subject Matter Expertise across different areas in their field, integrating this knowledge to perform complex and diverse tasks.
- Represent Lab as Subject Matter Expert with a working knowledge of the organisation’s domain: its services, technologies, architecture, business processes and procedures.
- Supports the development of persistent artefacts for the assigned business domain such as personas, empathy and journey maps, operating models, business models, process models and data models.
- Support the QE team in the creation of test strategy plans, which align with and trace to requirements along with the Test Manager.
- Support with the ongoing development and enhancement of robust team operating frameworks, document and tools
- Manage communication where embedding change to ways of working.
- Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Risk Management Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day to day work that you put customers at the heart of everything you do;
- Ensure that you fully understand and comply with the organisation’s Data Governance Policies as they relate to your area of responsibility and demonstrate in your day to day work that you treat data as an important corporate asset which must be protected and managed;
- Maintain the company’s compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations.
2. Experience Requirements
- A solid background in business analysis with a minimum 5 years previous experience as an Agile Business Analyst (or equivalent) is essential. This will include:
- Working with stakeholders to define and document as-is and to-be journeys and business processes including facilitating workshops
- Proficiently writing functional and technical user stories and related acceptance criteria in alignment with business objectives
- Conducting benchmarking and research techniques to support the definition of user stories
- Application of agile principles
- Active participation in agile ceremonies
- Use of Atlassian tools, Confluence and JIRA, for requirement decomposition, definition, elaboration and trace
- Conducting change management planning to support business adoption and benefit realisation
- A minimum of 5 years within the Financial Services industry of which 3 year’s experience of working within Mortgage and Savings, products and domain services is essential
3. Knowledge Requirements
- Extensive practical knowledge of tools, techniques, processes for elicitation and management of Business and technical Requirements is essential.
- Significant technical understanding of domains services, software development processes, technologies and architecture is essential
- Familiarity with financial services and preferably banking services domains is essential
- Excellent practical knowledge and understand of, and compliance with, regulatory requirements and Risk Management policies is desirable
- Extensive practical knowledge of Agile change methodology is essential
- Familiarity with SAFe 6.0 Agile Change Framework is desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of savings and mortgage products is desirable.
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Agile tools is essential.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem solving skills is essential.
- Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture is desirable.
4. Skill and Competency Requirements
- Advanced level skills in respect of verbal & written communication are essential
- Strong problem solving skills are essential
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams including developer, testers, Product Owners and stakeholders is essential
- Advanced level skills in respect of attention to detail are essential
- Advanced level skills in respect of the ability to learn & adapt are essential
- Advanced level skills in respect of the ability tasks and manage time effectively are essential
- Intermediate level skills in respect of the ability to self-manage are essential
- Intermediate level skills in respect of coaching others are desirable
5. Required Qualifications/Certifications
- GCSE qualifications in both Maths and English are essential.
- Scrum product owner (CPSO) or an equivalent agile analysis certification essential
- Degree or equivalent is desirable
