About the Role:
We are looking for an energetic and result-oriented EV Systems Lead who can drive engineering excellence across Automotive Electrification projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in embedded systems development, proven team leadership capabilities, and the ability to support business growth through customer engagement and pre-sales activities.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the full vehicle electrical architecture for our electrification programs. In this role, you will be the technical authority for end-to-end electrical system design, working across high-voltage and low-voltage domains, vehicle communication networks, and system integration — from concept through to production validation.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in EV systems development, proven team leadership capabilities, and the ability to support business growth through customer engagement and pre-sales activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and own the end-to-end electrical architecture for new EV platforms, covering HV and LV systems, power distribution, and energy management.
Lead the development of system-level requirements and allocate them across subsystems including BMS, inverter, DC-DC converter, OBC, and vehicle control unit (VCU).
Establish and maintain electrical architecture documents, interface control documents (ICDs), and system block diagrams.
Drive the selection and integration of key electrical components and harness design in collaboration with sourcing and suppliers.
Lead system integration activities, ensuring compatibility and functional correctness across all electrical subsystems.
Own the development of vehicle-level FMEA, safety analyses (ISO 26262 / functional safety), and DFMEA for electrical systems.
Define and execute system-level electrical validation and HIL/SIL testing strategies.
Work closely with embedded software teams to define control strategies, ECU interfaces, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Provide senior technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers in the electrification team.
Present architecture proposals and design decisions to internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with regulatory and homologation teams to ensure compliance with EU EV regulations and standards (ECE, UNECE, EMC, REACH)
Support the Chief Engineer in project planning, resource allocation, and risk management for electrification programs.
Ensure compliance with Automotive functional safety and quality standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and MISRA.
Lead technical discussions with Tier 1 suppliers and technology partners on component specifications and system integration.
Review and approve supplier design documentation, test reports, and prototype deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in electrical systems engineering, with at least 2 years focused on EV or hybrid vehicle architecture.
Proven experience defining full vehicle electrical architectures (HV + LV systems) for BEV or PHEV applications.
Strong knowledge of EV powertrain components: battery systems, inverters, e-motors, OBC, DC-DC converters, and VCU.
Hands-on experience with vehicle communication networks: CAN, LIN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet.
Solid understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety principles and their application to EV systems.
Familiarity with AUTOSAR, ASPICE, or similar automotive development frameworks.
Experience with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS, JIRA, or equivalent requirements and simulation platforms.
Experience working with global customers and distributed teams.
Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
Fluent English (written and spoken); additional European languages are an advantage.
Prior experience in technical pre-sales or solution consulting is a strong advantage.
Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in motorcycle, scooter, or compact EV platform development.
Background in EMC design and validation for EV systems.
Knowledge of EU EV homologation processes (WVTA, UN ECE R136, etc.).
Prior experience working in a multinational R&D environment, ideally with Japanese OEM collaboration.
ISO 26262 Functional Safety Engineer certification (TÜV or equivalent).
